Turf Blankets

Some lawns attract events that put significant stress on the grass and underlying surface. As a result, at the conclusion of the fall semester in December, these lawns are covered by translucent turf blankets. Turf blankets protect the lawns from winter weather and incidental stress and damage, such as people walking on a dormant or snow-covered lawn.

Having such protection during the winter allows for the lawns to be ready for use at an earlier time than they would be without the turf blankets in winter.  We aim to remove the turf blankets in early spring beginning on April 1 or earlier as forecasts allow.
