Campus Improvements Completed Over Academic Breaks 2021-22
Columbia's academic breaks are not only looked forward to by Columbia's students, but Facilities and Operations as well. While most are away, Facilities and Operations is able to perform a wide range of work as it has a smaller impact upon a less populated campus.
Similar to previous years, Facilities and Operations took advantage of winter and spring break to complete a number of projects on the Morningside campus, including pathway repairs, classrooms improvements, restrooms upgrades, and LED lighting installations. Highlights of the improvements are outlined below in alphabetical order by building.

Carman and John Jay Gates
Replacement of granite steps and handrails
International Affairs Building 400 Level
Installation of new flooring in Room 413

Kent Hall 500 Level
Refresh of restrooms on the fifth floor, including the installation of new partitions, sinks with automated faucets, and mirrors
Low Library
Repaired and replaced brick pavers at the pathway leading to the northeast corner of Low Library

Schermerhorn 400 Level
Refresh of room 412B
Wien Hall 1400 Level
Refresh of 14th floor hallway
William and June Warren Hall
Renovation of the fourth floor student lounge, and refresh of several spaces in Warren Hall with LED lighting upgrades, new carpeting, fresh paint, and more.
